In celebration of International Women’s Month and Sharpville Remembrance Day, Bold Women Network (BWN) has reinforced its commitment to uplifting women and children by announcing the successful distribution of essential items collected through ‘The Campaign for Dignity and Courage.’ This initiative, which launched in January, has been a lifeline for survivors of gender-based violence, ensuring they receive not just relief but also opportunities for empowerment.
BWN has partnered with organizations such as Leratong Place of Love Crisis Centre, Looking Forward Creative Centre, New Life Centre for Girls, and Ladies of Hope to extend its reach and impact. These collaborations ensure that those in need receive critical resources, emotional support, and pathways to a more secure future.
“Our mission is to bring hope and dignity to women and children facing the hardships of gender-based violence. Through this campaign, we aim to provide not only essential items but also skills development opportunities,” says **Lerato Kadiaka, Co-Founder of Bold Women Network.

Skills Development for Lasting Change
Recognizing that sustainable change goes beyond immediate aid, BWN has also launched the ‘Enabling Women to Fish for Themselves’ program. This initiative is designed to equip women and young girls with practical skills that will help them achieve financial independence, ensuring they have the tools to rebuild their lives beyond crisis centers.
“The commitment to these women aligns with our support for the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW60) and the Beijing Platform for Action, further emphasizing our dedication to gender equality and empowerment,” Kadiaka adds
Call for More Initiatives Like This
The work of Bold Women Network demonstrates the power of collective action in tackling gender-based violence. However, the fight is far from over. BWN encourages individuals, businesses, and organizations to support or launch similar initiatives that prioritize not only relief but also long-term empowerment.
Through continued advocacy, partnerships, and community-driven efforts, we can create a society where every woman and child can thrive, free from fear and full of opportunity.
