In partnership with Rise Against Hunger Africa, 5FM listeners, corporate teams, staff and other well-known names, including a team of celebs and influencers came together and packed 26 000 meals in just six hours, says the radio station.

5FM launched its #5FMLunchboxDrive on Thursday, 12 June, at the SABC Radio Park foyer. The mission was to pack meals for Early Childhood Development (ECD) centres across Johannesburg.

5FM says that this is what happens when youth energy meets purpose.

5FM and partners rolled up their sleeves again to pack nutritious meals at Sandton Convention Centre on Friday, 18 July, the event was broadcast, live on 5 Mid Mornings, with Stephanie Be and Yonaka from 09:00 to 12:00, which helped spread the word on this initiative.

Last year, the station helped to pack 582 552 meals.

Well done to everyone that took part, may many more brands, business and persons of influence take part in such initiatives.
