Johannes Adams, the current President of the Western Province Cricket Association (WPCA), has been appointed as a Non-Independent Director on the board of Cricket South Africa (CSA) following the organisation’s recently held AGM.
Adams has spent more than three decades as an educator and leader, currently serving as Acting Deputy Principal and Head of Department for Commerce & Business Studies at Belhar High School in Cape Town. Alongside a teaching career spanning 36 years, he has maintained deep roots in local cricket, chairing Tygerberg Cricket Club and managing the Belhar Cricket Learning Centre before stepping into provincial administration.

Elected as WPCA president in August 2023, Adams represents the province on Cricket South Africa’s Members’ Council and serves on the Local Organising Committee for the 2027 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup in South Africa, Namibia and Zimbabwe. His tenure at WPCA has focused on strengthening the talent pipeline, from grassroots and club structures to elite squads, while fostering opportunities for coaches, officials, and administrators.
With his mix of educational expertise and governance experience, Adams brings a developmental lens to cricket leadership. His appointment to CSA’s board signals a commitment to inclusive growth and strong oversight across the South African game.
