There was always something poetic about 10 February 2026. We had planned for it to mark 333 consecutive days of publishing on TINAR, a number that felt intentional, rhythmic, and earned. Built into a build-up format, marked as the day where TINAR transitions from thisisn0tareview.wordpress.com to an official .co.za domain. A clean technical shift to match the editorial momentum already in motion.

That move is taking a little longer than expected. Technical delays seem to happen a lot this week, domains migrate slower than ideas, and infrastructure sometimes lags behind vision. In the spirit of the transparency we’ve been practicing, from publishing monthly statistics to documenting our growth in real time, it’s important to acknowledge that the official TINAR website launch has been delayed due to backend and configuration challenges.
But here’s what hasn’t been delayed: the work. While the domain transfer stalls, the writing continues. And this week, that consistency delivered milestones that matter as much as the URL.
TINAR crossed 5,000 all-time reads.
For a growing, independent cultural commentary platform built without paid amplification, that number represents more than traffic to our eager curiosity, it represents discovery. It means people are finding the essays, staying with them, and returning. It means the archive is working.

At the same time, the platform quietly reached another benchmark: 500 published pieces. Five hundred essays, arguments, cultural observations, strategic critiques and media reflections. Five hundred instances of showing up, on slow news days, during algorithm dips, on days where there is no motovation to write, no time to double check spelling, and even when readership fluctuates. Five hundred acts of editorial discipline.
Those numbers, small as they are, mean a lot to us because they are structural, not cosmetic.
The move to a .co.za domain was never about aesthetics, but it is about alignment, aligning the seriousness of the work with its digital home. And that alignment will still happen, and when it launches, it will not mark the beginning of TINAR, but the strengthening of it. And when it does go live, it will carry with it 5000 views, at a 9 year old home of practice runs , 500 published pieces, and a readership that grew before the infrastructure did. That is the kind of foundation worth waiting for.

And in case this sounds poetic, it would be, we are a bunch of emotional creative writers who want to crash out because we missed a launch deadline, but are choosing poetic calm…
