Only 24% of the global cybersecurity workforce is made up of women, and that gap is starting to look less like a statistic and more like a structural flaw in how digital systems are built.

The Her CyberTracks Initiative is part of a growing effort to change that. Backed by the German Federal Foreign Office and the European Union, the programme is designed to equip women with the skills, networks, and exposure needed to actively shape the future of cybersecurity.

Since launching in 2023, more than 350 women from over 60 countries have gone through the programme gaining hands-on training, mentorship, and access to international policy spaces.

Participants can specialise in:

  • Cyber Diplomacy & Policy
  • Incident Response
  • Cybercrime
  • Cybersecurity & AI

While this isn’t entirely about getting more women into tech, it is very much about who gets to influence how digital systems are governed, secured, and experienced globally.

Applications are now open to women across 109 countries, including all African Union member states, and close on 19 April 2026.

If you’ve been waiting for a sign to pivot, level up, or step into global tech conversations, this might be it.
